Pet Walking Reminder
Spring is upon us.   Many citizens take this opportunity to get outdoors and go for a walk with their dogs.   If your dog relieves itself in a neighbor’s yard or public place, please clean up after them.  This is not only the courteous thing to do, it is the law. 

Please refer to City Code Section 86-106.  Thank you for being a good neighbor.
Wayne Hills Neighborhood Informational Meeting

The City has completed a study to reduce or eliminate drainage problems in the Wayne Hills Neighborhood.  You are invited to participate in this second Informational Meeting.  At the meeting, the city will review the planned stormwater solution for your neighborhood which is scheduled to be designed and built in 2010.  A brief presentation will take place at 6:15 PM followed by one-on-one discussions with the Study Team until 7:30 PM.  Comments may be submitted in writing during the meeting, e-mailed to the city’s engineering consultant at drissmeyer@amtengineering.com, or provided by calling the consultant at (804)276-6231 before March 19, 2010. 

The above meeting location is accessible to persons having disabilities. Any person having special needs or requiring special aid, such as in interpreter for the hearing impaired, is recommended to contact the City of Waynesboro one week in advance.
May Election Information
In order to be eligible to vote in the May 4, 2010 General Election, you must be registered no later than 5:00 PM Monday, April 12, 2010.  Offices on the ballot will be City Council Wards C & D, and School Board Wards C & D. Click here for more information.

Year of the Wood Duck Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Waynesboro’s Constitution Park.  This free annual event takes place riverside and promotes environmental conservation and watershed stewardship in the Shenandoah River Basin.  Activities include Reptile Shows, Stream Safari, Fish and Fun Rodeo, Canoe Rides, Kids Arts & Crafts, Stream Electro-fishing, and is capped off by the Great South River Duck Race. Mapping Information Available On-line
The City of Waynesboro has recently developed a GIS-based (Geographic Information System) internet mapping service that is now available for public use.  This mapping application allows an individual to interact with specific types of geographic information, including land records, streets, aerial imagery, etc. Users can pan and zoom, export geographic information, perform queries, and more.  Access to the Internet Mapping Service can be found by selecting the Mapping link on the menu list at the left.
2nd Annual Park To Park Half Marathon
Saturday May 1st - 7:00 am

Experience the best views in the Shenandoah Valley on this 13.1 mile point to point course connecting Waynesboro’s Ridgeview Park to Augusta County’s Stuarts Draft Park. Gently rolling hills, mountain vistas and beautiful serene river crossings make this Park to Park course a must do spring race. The race will be completely supported with fully stocked aid stations and a post race party at the finish line.
