Effective Thursday, February 15, 2018 the Virginia State Burn Law takes effect and remains in effect until Monday, April 30, 2018. During this period, there is absolutely no burning allowed prior to 4:00 pm if the fire is in, or within 300 feet of, woodland, brushland, or fields containing dry grass or other flammable material. This includes, but not limited to, approved hand built fire pits and commercial bought portable recreational patio burn pits. This is also in addition to any further restrictions imposed by the fire marshal during periods of high winds in which the burn restriction may be extended past 4:00 pm at the discretion of the fire marshal.
