Bookerdale Road Bridge Closure

The Bookerdale Road Bridge will be closed for repairs starting Wednesday, September 15, 2021

How long will the bridge be closed?

The closure is expected to last another month and will reopen around mid November 2021.

What repairs are being done on the bridge?

The wooden deck of the bridge will be replaced.

Background

City staff have been monitoring the condition of the timbers since late 2020 and made a decision to replace the deck in the Spring of 2021.  Engineers who specialize in bridge safety inspections made several recommendations to the City on the types of materials needed to replace the timbers.  The City was able to source those recommended supplies in time for the fall start date on the replacement.
